Blue republicans taking over!
(Oklahoma City)- Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Matt Pinnell today responded to the news that Republican voter registration in Oklahoma is at its highest level in history. The Oklahoman’s Michael McNutt reports that Republicans now comprise 41.4% of registered voters in Oklahoma. Democrats have fallen to their lowest level on record at 47.2%.
“It is encouraging – but not surprising - that more and more Oklahomans are finding a home in the Republican Party,” said Chairman Pinnell. “Though this has been a long-term trend, the sharp left turn of the Democrat Party and this administration has only accelerated the process. Last week’s decision on the Keystone XL pipeline (a decision that Oklahoma Democratic Party Chairman Wallace Collins defended) is just the latest example of a Democrat Party that is wholly antithetical to the values and priorities of most Oklahomans.”
Voter registration in Oklahoma has long favored Democrats. In 1964 – the last time Oklahoma voted for a Democrat candidate for President – registered Democrats made up over 80% of Oklahoma voters. In the past 10 years, Oklahoma Democrats have had a net decrease of over 136,000 voters and have fallen from nearly 54% of all registered voters to only 47%. In that same time frame, Republicans have had a net increase of 98,864 voters and have gone from 36% of all registered voters to 41.4%. In the past year alone, Republicans narrowed the registration gap by over 35,000 voters.
“You can see from the data that our County GOP activists are doing the work, day by day, of registering Republican voters. Without them, our gains would not be possible,” continued Pinnell. “This election cycle is probably the best opportunity the Republican Party has ever had to register Republicans and re-register Democrats as Republicans, and our activists from all across this state are the ones making this happen.”
“This is no longer your granddaddy’s Democrat Party. Democrats are pursuing an agenda that favors far left environmentalists over middle-class American jobs, an agenda that seeks to divide Americans along class lines, and an agenda that promotes an ever-increasing federal role in all facets of life. While they pursue that agenda, we are waiting in the wings with voter registration forms….lots and lots of voter registration forms.”

Rand Paul Detained by TSA
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul was detained Monday by the Transportation Security Administration in Nashville, Tenn., after refusing a full body pat-down, POLITICO has confirmed.
“I spoke with him five minutes ago and he was being detained indefinitely,” Paul spokesperson Moira Bagley said. “The image scan went off; he refused patdown.”
Paul’s father, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) tweeted out news of the incident, saying that there had been an “anomaly” with a body scanner.
“My son @SenRandPaul being detained by TSA for refusing full body pat-down after anomaly in body scanner in Nashville. More details coming,” wrote the authenticated Twitter account of presidential candidate Ron Paul.
Paul, a Republican, was apparently traveling to Washington, D.C., when he was detained. He noted earlier on his Twitter that he was planning to speak at the March for Life.
“Today I’ll speak to the March for Life in DC. A nation cannot long endure w/o respect for the right to Life. Our Liberty depends on it,” tweeted Rand Paul at 9:49 A.M.
The incident was first disclosed by Paul’s spokesperson on Twitter.
“Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He’s currently being detained by TSA in Nashville,” read her tweet just minutes later, at 9:59 A.M.
Like his father, Rand Paul has libertarian leanings and has been a fierce critic of TSA’s pat-downs of passengers at airports, which he views as government overreach. The senator grilled TSA Administrator John Pistole last year after a 6-year-old girl from Paul’s hometown, was patted down by airport security.
“I guess this little girl would be part of the random pat-downs, this little girl from Bowling Green, Kentucky, one of my constituents,” Paul said, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. “They’re still quite unhappy with you guys as well as myself and a lot of other Americans who think you’ve gone overboard, you’re missing the boat on terrorism because you’re doing these invasive searches on six-year-old girls.”

And then there where 4

Word is coming out today that Rick Perry has dropped out of the Race for the GOP nomination. Perry says that his endorsement is going to Gingrich. This just leaves Romney, Santorumn Gengrech and of coarse Ron Paul. Expect more news as the story develops and we draw closer to the Romney v. Paul 1 on 1 that appears to be in the works for later this year.
